According to the 2024 QS World University Rankings, University of Malaya (UM) has maintained its position as Malaysia’s top university for six years running. With an astounding five-place jump in this 20th edition of the rankings, UM now stands at 65th place globally.

Coming closely on its heels is University Science Malaysia (USM). This year saw the USM advance six places from 143rd to 137th, thereby sharing its ranking with the esteemed University of Science and Technology of China.
