Nexus Available Courses

Early Years

Nexus Nursery and Reception courses combine a variety of child- and teacher-led play activities to promote learning. Through play-based learning, adults may encourage children’s sense of exploration and development of important foundational skills by creating an atmosphere that encourages active participation and exploration.

Primary Curriculum

Through an authentic thematic approach, the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) fosters rigor and intense involvement in learning. In addition to emphasizing academic learning, it expressly fosters the full child’s personal qualities and characteristics, including global mindedness, in order to prepare students for a bright future.

Middle School

They created the Nexus Middle School Program (MSP) to bridge the gap between the IPC and IGCSE, ensuring continuity and a seamless transition from primary to upper secondary education.

IGCSE

Students between the ages of 14 and 16 widely accept the Cambridge IGCSE as the leading international diploma. Primary Curriculum (IPC)

Will there be a book list published for older learners?

Nexus teaches most of the courses your kid will learn using a variety of media, including books, schemes of work, and the Internet, so they don’t require parents to purchase textbooks. However, parents may need to provide textbooks for certain language selections.

Is there a home-school communication book and will it be checked?

The communication book is a tool that some year groups use to communicate with parents and the school.

Does Nexus have a reading scheme?

Yes. They have several and learners use them when they are beginning readers and as they develop their reading skills.

Is there a library session?

Yes, each class has been scheduled to spend 40 minutes per week at the library. Of course, the library will be open at other hours, and students are welcome to utilize it as needed.

What languages are offered for the Primary Learners?

For Years 1 through 6, the focus language options are Spanish, Mandarin, or Bahasa Malaysia (3 sessions per week).

Where can I get information about music, PE or Language lessons?

What age groups does Nexus International School cater to?

Ages 3 (Nursery Level) through 18 are accepted at Nexus (International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme-IBDP).

Which curriculum does Nexus International School follow?

In their primary school, they use the renowned International Primary Curriculum (IPC) and employ the British National Curriculum for reading and math. Their secondary school applies a British-based curriculum with cross-curricular connections to prepare students for the IBDP in Years 12 and 13. They also prepare students for the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) and General Certificate of Education (GCSE) exams in Years 10 and 11.

What is the IPC?

The International Primary Curriculum, often known as IPC, emphasizes academic, personal, and global awareness development as a way to approach learning. Academic, Social, Spiritual, Emotional, and Physical are the five main focus areas. Learning is made dynamic, interesting, enjoyable, and most importantly, meaningful through the IPC. Students strike a balance between learning to respect the past and getting ready for the world they will live in.

What are the Co-Curricular activities offered by the school?

A comprehensive and interesting CCA curriculum is available, and it will change depending on demand.

Can learners commence school at mid-term?

Yes, after they’ve gone through the evaluation the school requires. The child might feel uneasy in this scenario, so it is avoided.

Which are the foreign languages taught at Nexus International School?

How can I apply for the 2022 Nexus Scholarships?

When is the application deadline?

The Full IBDP Scholarship application deadline is January 7, 2022.

Will I need to pay an application fee?

No, there won’t be a fee for your application.

What other documents do I need to submit besides the application form?

  • Official statistics on extracurricular activities (Supporting documents should only reflect the past 3 years)

Which year group or age group can apply for this scholarship?

Students who wish to start the IB Diploma Program in Year 12 may apply for the scholarships.

Who can apply for the 2021 Nexus Scholarships?

The scholarship is available to all students, both domestic and foreign.

Will I need to attend an interview?

Yes, you must appear for an interview with the Scholarship Committee.

When will I know if I am shortlisted?

Within one month of the application deadline, you will be contacted.

How will I know if I am shortlisted?

How long is the tenure of the scholarship?

Full and partial IBDP scholarships are available for two years to cover both years of the IB Diploma Program. They evaluate Boarding Scholarships on an individual basis.

How will the candidates of the scholarship be evaluated?

Candidates are judged on their academic success, involvement in extracurricular activities, and leadership qualities.

Is this scholarship open to current Nexus Learners?

Both external candidates and current Nexus students are eligible for scholarships.

Will there be a penalty if I decline the offer?

You won’t be penalized if you reject an offer.

Will there be a penalty if I withdraw half way through the course of the scholarship?

You won’t face any consequences. However, you cannot postpone either the scholarship or the study period. If you withdraw in the middle of a term, they don’t permit cashing out for the balance of the term.

Can I accept more than 1 scholarship?

No, you can only take one offer at a time.
