Boarding House
Cafeteria/ Dining Room
The school has two cafeterias for primary and secondary students, as well as a secondary cafe.
In their full cafeteria-style dining facilities, Nexus serves a broad variety of healthy meals to suit varied preferences and requirements because it caters to international students.
Learners have the option of bringing a packed lunch to class or purchasing lunch from the Nexus café, and dining area.
Students are given a Nexus One Card, which they must use to make food purchases. If students forget or misplace their cards, the Senior Leadership Office will provide them with a food ticket for that day. A food voucher is available for visitors through Student Services.
Library
The environment of Nexus Library is welcoming and peaceful. Through Information Literacy Classes and Library Induction Programs, it aims to assist kids, teenagers, and the entire school community in finding trustworthy information, using the information effectively, collaborating productively with others, developing knowledge, and safely navigating the Internet.
With the support of those programs led by trained librarians, we think these abilities will enable children to become lifelong learners.
The collections in our library range in level from Early Years to IB, and they are very diverse, including fiction, non-fiction, series, picture books, graphic novels, textbooks, and more.
In addition to the physical holdings, our library includes subscriptions to a number of databases that include e-books, e-journals, and e-magazines.
Transport
The transportation service, considering access to destinations, timing, and cost restrictions, aims to offer a comprehensive transport facility.
Nexus collaborates with a transport company, whose drivers have undergone extensive training and testing, for its transportation services. These drivers have received special training to drive kids to and from school.
GPS tracking systems, installed on the buses, allow parents to track the bus’s location. Nexus provides parents with a password to access their personal route.
The route setup depends on the number of registrations received and negotiations with the parents. Each bus will have a maximum of four pick-up locations.
Depending on the parents’ location, individual drop-offs may be an option if this doesn’t overwhelm the students at the end of the day or take too much time. If not, the bus will drop off at the point of pickup.
Safety and Security
Security comes first. Our guards are physically on duty around-the-clock, and CCTV cameras continuously record all events taking place on school property.
Please get in touch with the administration manager or principal if you have any inquiries or concerns about matters relating to school environmental health, safety, or security.
Security
Under no circumstances will unauthorized personnel be permitted entry, and all visitors visiting the grounds are required to show identity and get a Visitors’ Pass at the Guard Office.
They want to remind parents that the school has security measures in place to ensure everyone’s safety. Security personnel are unable to be flexible, and any deviation from the rules could result in a parent being denied entry to the school’s grounds.
When the security personnel enforces the rules, kindly do not hold them responsible.
Personal (School IC Card)
The Nexus One Card is a multi-purpose identity card for parents, teachers, and students. With E-Attendance and E-Wallet, access to and from the school site will be tracked.
E-Wallet will have money in it that may be spent at the cafeteria and school store. The one-card system will be utilized at the library, as well as for printing and photocopying.
- All parents, designated drivers, and domestic assistants must bring identification to school and present it to security when entering the building.
- When parents arrive without their ID card, they must register at the security gate and show a valid alternative ID with a photo (such as a driver’s license).
- Drivers and domestic assistants who transport students to and from school on a regular basis must register with the school and receive an ID card. Domestic workers and drivers who are not registered won’t be allowed on the school’s property.
- Without express approval from the appropriate Head of School, bodyguards are not allowed inside the school buildings.
Vehicles
The right side of the car’s windscreen or the front of a motorcycle must always display a valid vehicle pass for admission to the school grounds.
If the pass is not displayed, security checks may be conducted, resulting in delays and discomfort for other people.
During school hours, car park stickers are available from Student Services. Free stickers are limited to two per family.
The Senior Leadership Office must issue stickers to older students who have received written permission from the school to drive.
Helpers/Drivers
The school asks helpers/drivers not to wait on the school grounds during school hours unless the class teacher specifically engages them in that day’s activities to promote independence in our learners.
Insurance
The school has Public Liability, Fire, Consequential Loss, and Burglary coverage for the school as well as Group Personal Accident coverage for all students and staff. Additionally, the school secures insurance coverage for all student-led field trips.
Photographs
Their school may occasionally post pictures or videos of our students on our website or use them in publications like The Expat magazine’s schools section or The Star newspaper education section.
If you do not want us to use your child’s image, please inform the school administration before the next school year begins.
Skateboards, Roller Skates, Rip Sticks & Bicycles
They allow students to bring these items to class and use them in designated places during breaks. They expect students to dress safely and behave in a manner that prioritizes their safety.
Students should securely store these things when not in use. The school does not accept responsibility for the upkeep and security of these objects.
No Smoking
The entire school campus is a no-smoking area. Drivers should be reminded by their parents not to smoke on school property.
