Important: Sales & Service Tax (SST) on School Fees

Starting 1 July 2025, all private and international schools in Malaysia are required to charge 6% Service Tax (SST) on annual school fees exceeding RM60,000 per student. This applies to tuition fees, EAL charges, and Application and Registration fees (for new students only), affecting all students regardless of nationality. Malaysian students with OKU cards are exempted.

Please note that all fees stated below are exclusive of SST.

Enrolment Fees 2026

Upon application and enrolment, the following fees are payable.

Application Fee

RM1,590 (including 6% Service Tax)

A non-refundable fee payable upon submission of an application.

Registration Fee

Registration Fee (Nursery & Reception): RM10,000

Registration Fee (Year 1 – 13): RM20,000

A one-off, non-refundable fee payable upon receipt of the Letter of Offer.

For Reception and Nursery: When students enter Year 1, the difference in the registration fee must be paid to top-up the registration fee.

For Years 12 – 13: New students in Years 12 and 13 may pay the Registration Fee over four consecutive academic terms.

Deposit

The deposit must be topped up as tuition fees increase in accordance with your child’s year group. It is refundable provided one term’s written notice of withdrawal is given while the student is enrolled in class. The notice must be received and acknowledged by the School on or prior to the commencement of the term in which the student will be withdrawn.

For new students joining in Year 12 or 13, the deposit is capped at RM10,000.

Tuition Fees 2026/27

Tuition fees are invoiced termly and are payable upon commencement of each of the three terms within an academic year.

Tuition fees cover technology resources, books, and some stationery for Nursery, Reception, and Years 1 to 9. The cost of uniforms, bus services, cafeteria meals, CCAs, school trips/camps, exam fees, and technology devices is not included in the fees listed above.

Fee Incentives and Discounts

Garden International School offers several fee incentives to help families manage the cost of education. These include advance payment rebates, sibling discounts, flexible enrolment options, and alumni benefits.

Advance Tuition Fee Rebate

Students will receive a 3% rebate on tuition fees for Terms 2 and 3 if the annual tuition fee is paid in full on or before the first day of Term 1. For new students, the full annual tuition fee (3 terms) must be paid on or before the commencement of study in Term 1.

If a student leaves GIS during the academic year and adequate written notice is served, prepaid tuition fees for unused terms will be refunded. However, the rebate granted at the beginning of the year will be proportionately deducted from the refund.

Additionally, families receive a 5% tuition fee discount for the third and subsequent children, provided the first two older children are full tuition fee paying students. The discounted child must be on the published fee schedule and not currently on any other discount or scholarship.

Flexible Enrolment (Pre-Nursery & Nursery)

GIS offers a flexible day programme for Pre-Nursery and Nursery students, which can be extended to a full-day programme upon the teacher’s recommendation and parents’ request. Where places are limited, only full-day programmes will be offered.

GIS and Taylor’s Alumni Benefit

Payment Methods

GIS accepts fee payments via local and international credit or debit cards and accounts. For local payments, options include online banking, direct banking, and in-person payment at the school. For international payments, families can use Flywire or Telegraphic Transfers.
