Malaysia will introduce a one-year social visit pass for international students from 23 low-risk countries, starting December 1, 2023. This initiative, announced by Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, allows graduates to stay in Malaysia for a year to continue their studies, travel, or work part-time in permitted sectors.
It’s part of Malaysia’s new Visa Liberalisation Plan aimed at boosting tourism and economic growth. Other initiatives include a 30-day visa-free entry for Chinese and Indian nationals and improvements in visa issuance. This policy is intended to attract skilled personnel and enhance tourism revenue.
