Taylor’s International School is renowned for its exceptional learning spaces and student-friendly environments. In this comprehensive guide, we will walk you through the school’s classrooms, sports facilities, and other areas that foster both education and enjoyment.
Additionally, we will provide insights into the boarding facilities where students can reside during the school term. This guide serves as an invaluable resource to discover the full range of offerings at Taylor’s International School.
Facilities
There are various facilities and boarding services on both TIS campuses which are located in Kuala Lumpur and Puchong. We explain more about these facilities based on campuses. However, some facilities are the same on both campuses.
Cafeteria
The school cafeteria offers a variety of nourishing, well-balanced, and healthy meals from Asian, Western, and vegetarian cuisines.
The staff meticulously maintains cleanliness and safety in the dining area, kitchen, food storage, and food preparation spaces, emphasizing food safety and hygiene. The school strives to encourage students to adopt better eating habits.
The school posts the menu on the Parent Portal at the end of each month. Parents can pre-order meals through the eService. Cezars Kitchen Sdn Bhd fully stocks the cafeteria at TIS Kuala Lumpur.
Health and Medical
Every child’s health and safety are of utmost significance to the school. Accidents do happen, though, and kids can get sick throughout the school day.
In either case, every attempt will be taken to notify parents as soon as possible. If emergency treatment is needed right away and the parents cannot be reached, the school will arrange for emergency care with a qualified doctor or hospital.
The school has a Medical Room called the Sick Bay with two full-time, qualified and experienced nurses to provide support in these situations.
They will contact parents, should an accident occur with your child. If your child has any allergies or suffers from any condition such as asthma, please ensure you inform the school through the medical forms, or directly to the nurses and also class teachers.
Sport
Students’ participation in sports and their physical development are highly valued at TIS Kuala Lumpur.
Sport participation aids in the growth and improvement of a variety of abilities, including strength, speed, endurance, agility, control, balance, and flexibility. A child’s self-esteem and confidence are also seen to improve.
There are several sports available, including badminton, football, volleyball, basketball, athletics, and more. The sports teams have had great success in these sports in previous years.
Sports should be taught in schools and play a crucial role in a child’s growth.
Performing Arts
The performing arts combine elements of music, instrumental instruction, dance, and drama.
They equip children with high-quality performing arts education, instilling in them the knowledge and skills that promote self-confidence and a love for performing.
They create an environment where we encourage students to set goals, take calculated risks, and view failure as a learning opportunity.
Bus Services
Parents that require transportation for their children can use third-party bus operators that the school has contracted with. Different areas of the city are served by a number of bus companies.
Cashless System
We are proud to be a cashless campus at TIS Kuala Lumpur. In our school, almost all products and services may be bought online or by using an eCard.
e-Book Store
The parent portal provides access to our eBook Store, where you may buy all school supplies, stationery, and textbooks online. All orders, transactions, and payments must be done online, and your home or place of business will receive all deliveries.
They also have a cashless vending machine in the school lobby that allows rapid transactions with a scan of the eCard for an urgent need for a PE kit or school uniform.
e-Service
The eService gives parents online access to:
- View transaction information for the e-Card
- Transfer Fund between sibling or parent/student e-Cards.
- Update the e-Card
Parents must sign in using the family GMAIL account provided by our admissions department in order to access the eService. The top right corner of our website contains quick access to the Parent Portal.
Counselling
Two full-time counsellors at TIS Kuala Lumpur offer student counselling. Students can discuss any concerns about their schoolwork or mental or emotional health in a private, secure setting through the program.
Counselling is about receiving support at trying times, learning how to deal with problems in life, and having assistance in finding answers.
Expert managers run the school counselling program, following the Counseling Code of Ethics from the Malaysian Board of Counselors (Lembaga Kaunselor Malaysia).
The counselor maintains confidentiality unless the student or someone else is at risk of harm or physical injury.
You can find the counsellor in the Counsellor’s Room (Level 2, Academic Block) from Monday to Friday during school hours.
Safety and Security
At TIS Kuala Lumpur, we place a high priority on the safety and security of our employees, parents, and students.
They have guards on duty around the clock, and we employ CCTV cameras to keep an eye on things across the school’s grounds. Their top priority is your safety.
To attend the school, parents, guardians, and kids must have an Identity Tag. When parents arrive without their ID cards, the security gate must register their names.
Vendors and tourists alike are required to register at the guardhouse with their names and intended use.
Co-curricular Activities
The curriculum at the school includes co-curricular activities (CCAs) as a vital component. Students learn about their interests and skills through CCAs. These leisurely, athletic, and interest-based activities develop character, as well as teamwork and leadership skills.
The CCAs that are provided offer a wide range of choices, including traditional sports like basketball, football, and badminton as well as more culturally focused activities like drama, music, and dance.
To support these activities, we have a committed staff of educators and first-rate contemporary facilities.
Extra-curricular activities
Extracurricular activities (ECAs) are extracurriculars that are not part of the regular school curriculum. Students have the chance to further explore their social, creative, and physical interests through these pay-to-participate activities, which will improve their skills, knowledge, and confidence.
We provide a wide range of ECAs at TIS Kuala Lumpur, including leisure, sporting, and interest-based activities. Our ECAs are led by outside experts and held after school so that students can take advantage of a diverse set of learning techniques.
