The Jeffrey Cheah Foundation (Legacy of Educational Support)
The Jeffrey Cheah Foundation, established on 18 March 2010 by Malaysia’s Prime Minister, replaced the Sunway Education Trust Fund founded in 1997. Created by Tan Sri Dr. Jeffrey Cheah, AO, the foundation reinvests all surplus funds into scholarships, research, and campus facilities. To apply for a Sunway University scholarship, submit your online application with the following documents:
- SPM / STPM / Diploma / Foundation / Pre-University / Matriculation certificate or equivalent
The Statement of Results or final Certificate from the following examination boards serves as the student’s “ACTUAL RESULTS”:
- Cambridge Assessment International Examination (CAIE)
- AQA
- Pearson
International students applying for Sunway University scholarships should also prepare passport copies, English proficiency results (IELTS or TOEFL), and any additional documents required for their chosen programme. - The scholarship ONLY covers tuition fee deduction in subjects enrolled for the first time (first attempt), NOT for repeat subjects.
- General fees must be paid according to Sunway University / Sunway College (KL)’s enrolling and fee policy.
- The scholarships apply to the year of admission, and not the year of application.
- Students with credit transfer or exemptions will not be eligible for scholarship.
