Sunway Master of Visual Communication Media Studies communications are now structured around narratives.
Messages are shaped in all types of media by branding narratives.
They will analyze these media themes using this narrative framework. Taylor’s will investigate how narratives have evolved as an organizing element in contemporary media and what this means for society.

Program Review
Sunway Master of Visual Communication Media Studies will teach you how messages are created and how they effect our society and culture. You will be able to examine how various media decide and define how messages are conveyed.
You will understand how new technologies alter the messaging they receive. This will be taught to you through a combination of theoretical knowledge and practical practice. Finally, you will create a research based thesis project.
This is a research technique that mixes artistic and academic research approaches. It promotes the growth of knowledge and creativity via creative expression, intellectual research, and experimentation.
The research creation process yields an original creative piece with an academic component.
Program Structure
This curriculum leads to an MA in coursework. You need Six (6) core courses in research, media theory, and media practice. Following that, you will select two (2) electives in either theory, practice, or both. As a final assignment, the MA culminates in a Research-Creation Project.
This project will use research approaches to create unique visual creations that communicate the knowledge gathered from your study.

Entry Requirements
General Requirements
Candidates should have one of the following qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent, with a minimum CGPA of 2.75
- A Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent, with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 and not meeting CGPA of 2.75, is acceptable subject to a rigorous internal assessment OR
- A Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent, with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 is acceptable subject to a minimum of 5 years working experience in a relevant field
English Requirements
International candidates must demonstrate English ability sufficient to satisfy the program’s requirements:
- IELTS 6.0 OR its equivalent
For International students, Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score of 600 OR International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score of 6.0 OR its equivalent is acceptable.
M.A. and M.S. in Visual Communication
The Master of Arts (M.A.) and Master of Science (M.S.) in Visual Communication are advanced degree programs designed for individuals looking to deepen their expertise in the field of visual media and communication.
The M.A. in Visual Communication typically focuses more on the theoretical, cultural, and artistic aspects of visual media, offering courses in media theory, visual culture, and design principles.
