UTM Petroleum Engineering

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Petroleum engineering encompasses a wide variety of tasks connected to oil and gas resource exploration, development, production, and abandonment. Formation evaluation, reservoir engineering, drilling engineering, well completion, well treatment and diagnostic, and production engineering are all included in the Petroleum Engineering Program. Apart from that, the Program necessitates a solid understanding of other relevant disciplines such as geophysics, petroleum geology, petroleum project economics and management, engineering safety, and so on.

Bachelor of Petroleum Engineering

UTM’s undergraduate Petroleum Engineering Course was the first to be provided in this nation by the Department of Petroleum Engineering at UTM in 1975. The Program’s purpose is to give undergraduate students with a world-class petroleum engineering education that will provide them with the technical and general skills needed by the worldwide oil and gas sector. The Engineering Accreditation Council (EAC) and the Washington Accord have fully accredited our undergraduate program. Furthermore, the Program has been compared to ABET Program requirements for petroleum and similarly titled engineering Programs, the Society of Petroleum Engineering competence matrix for Petroleum Engineers, and six ABET-accredited institutions of higher learning in the United States of America (USA). Tuition fees for bachelor of petroleum engineering for academic year of 2022-2023 is 11,200 Ringgit.
