The Jeffrey Cheah Ace Scholarship at Sunway University, established by the Jeffrey Cheah Foundation-Sunway Group, is an exclusive opportunity for Malaysian citizens to advance their educational goals. The scholarship caters to academically distinguished individuals, providing them with the financial assistance needed to pursue their studies at Sunway University, one of Malaysia’s premier educational institutions. The scholarship also extends its benefits to those seeking to study at other selected top-ranked local public and international universities, reflecting the Foundation’s commitment to nurturing and empowering the next generation of leaders.
Eligibility
- Malaysian citizens under the age of 21
- SPM requires a minimum of 10As (English & 5 other core subjects)
- CGPA of 3.30 or higher in STPM, Foundation, Matriculation, or Pre-University
- Annual household income of not more than RM150,000
- Full-time undergraduate studies (starting in 2022) at local, private, and top-ranked international universities.
- Applicants must have a letter of unconditional/conditional acceptance from the university.
- Individuals who are personable, have had leadership roles in extracurricular activities, are resilient, and strive for excellence
- Have strong communication abilities and be fluent in English.
- Must not be affiliated with or a winner of any other scholarship or award from other educational institutions, organizations, or charities.

Scope of Award
Candidates will be offered growth options like internships and mentoring, as well as placement in Sunway Group firms upon completion of their studies, in addition to tuition costs, housing, and a stipend to cover basic living expenses.
Candidates will be expected to maintain Second Class (Upper) or 2:1 grades in each semester of their degree.

Required Documents
Attach the following certified true copy documents for the Online Scholarship Application:
- SPM/STPM certificate or similar Identity Card
- All college outcomes, including the most recent ones
- Income Tax Return of Parents/Guardians
- Salary stubs for the last three months/other proof of income The latest drawn pay slip must be enclosed for retirees.
- The most recent EPF Statement
- All certificates for extracurricular activities
Application deadline
Applicants are hereby notified that the review period commences two weeks after the initiation of programs or two weeks subsequent to the dissemination of actual results. Please be advised that scholarship packages undergo an annual evaluation. The information contained within this brochure pertains solely to the 2023 intake. It is imperative that applications are complete and submitted within the stipulated timeframe; any applications that are late or incomplete will not be considered.
Terms and Condition
- Malaysian citizens are the only ones who can apply.
- Scholars must maintain satisfactory academic performance throughout their studies.
- Scholars must attend a group counseling session, a talk, a workshop, and a meeting specifically designed for all scholarship recipients, as well as help with projects run by the Welfare Unit, Student LIFE, and Sunway Student Ambassadors (SSA) as part of their contribution to Sunway University/ Sunway College (KL) and the campus community.
- Scholars must submit a copy of their academic progress report to the Scholarship Unit at Student LIFE once the results are released at the conclusion of each semester.
