Sunway Bachelor of Computer Science

The Computer Science degree program focuses on system infrastructure design and development, as well as software and application technologies such as web browsers and databases.

The Malaysian Qualifications Agency Program Standards for Computing and the Curriculum Guidelines for Undergraduate Degree Programs in Computer Science published by the ACM-IEEE CS (Association for Computing Machinery and Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Computer Society, USA) were used to develop this program.

Sunway Bachelor of Computer Science aims to provide graduates with the information, principles, and abilities needed to build new technology and creative ideas in the field of computer science.

The program of study provides a thorough basis in computer science, allowing students to learn technical skills such as theoretical algorithmic foundations in order to design modern software or computing solutions. Students will also have the ability to do a variety of activities such as analyzing, modeling, creating, developing, and evaluating computing solutions during their study.

Electives in specialized areas such as computer vision and computer security are also available. Graduates will also get a degree from Lancaster University upon satisfactory completion of the program. They will receive two certificates, certifying that they are graduates of both Sunway University and Lancaster University.

STPM	Average C+ or CGPA 2.33 (minimum 2 Principals)
A-Level	Minimum 12 points (Minimum Grade D in at least 2 subjects)

Sunway Foundation in Arts	CGPA 2.3
Sunway Foundation in Science Technology	CGPA 2.3
Unified Examination Certificate	Maximum 26 points from 5 subjects (all Grade Bs)
International Baccalaureate	Completed with minimum 25 points (excluding bonus points)
Sunway Diploma in Related Field	CGPA 2.50 or equivalent

General Requirements

• SPM or equivalent credit in Additional Mathematics
• Graduates from Foundation/Matriculation programs must enroll in and pass a Mathematics Enhancement subject offered by the program, as well as credit in Mathematics and one subject from either Science, Technology, or Engineering discipline at the SPM level.

International Students

• International students from specific countries who want to study at Sunway University (for example, programs in collaboration with Lancaster University) must first complete and pass our online six-month International Preparatory Program (IPP).
• This is required for enrollment in a Sunway degree program, which also results in a degree certificate from Sunway’s partner institution. To progress to the degree, students must pass all subjects with a grade of C or higher.

• O-Level English (1119) Credit
• Sunway Intensive English Program (IEP) Pass Level 4 with minimum 65%
  ESL/English Satisfactory level in Pre-University program, where the medium of instruction is English
