Program Overview
Through an individual research project, this curriculum focuses on a topic of the student’s choice. It is especially designed to help students build research abilities and do independent study while extending their knowledge and comprehension of a topic in psychology that interests them.
Sunway Master of Psychology students will learn how to conduct literature searches as well as design and manage a research project. Students’ critical thinking, project management, and report writing abilities and traits will help them reach their career goals. The program’s core courses guarantee that students are conversant with research methodology and statistical tools, allowing them to conduct productive research in a variety of fields of psychology. These modules also seek to increase students’ comprehension of ethical problems as well as their capacity to answer psychological research questions.
The curriculum also serves as a great springboard for individuals who aspire to continue their studies to the doctoral level.

Entry Requirements
General Requirements
Candidates should have one of the following qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 3.00

Any other qualifications will be considered on a case-to-case basis* and subject to the approval and acceptance by University Senate.
English Requirements
International candidates must demonstrate English ability sufficient to satisfy the program’s requirements:
- IELTS 6.0
- TOEFL 550 (paper-based), 200 (computer-based) or 75 (Internet-based)
- PTE Academic 50 overall
- MUET Band 4
- Cambridge English: First/CEFR 170 (Grade B)/B2
- Cambridge English: Advanced/CEFR 170 (Grade B)/B2
- SPM English 11195C
Note: Candidates who have completed a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in English would have met the language requirement.
