There are three residential campus in University Kebangsaan Malaysia which service for both local and international students. There are also some interesting places inside UKM university.
College Residence
A student who is given housing at a residential college must abide by these Residential College Guidelines, without regard to any other provisions in the Universities and University Colleges Act 1971, the UKM Constitution, statutes, rules and regulations of the University.
The UKM (Discipline of Students) Rules 1999 may be used to take disciplinary action against a student who violates any of the rules outlined in the residential college guidelines.

Placement
- Depending on the availability of housing, students may be placed in a residential college as a FACILITY.
- If a student is found to be in violation of the Residential College Guidelines, they will not be given a placement at a residential college.
- It is COMPULSORY for first-year undergraduate students for each session to register and reside at the residential college for the first and second semesters.
- To stay at the residential college, students in Year 2 and higher must submit and confirm their application.
- When applying to a residential college, students in Year 2 and up are required to commit to a complete semester.
- If a student wishes to leave the Residential College before the end of a semester, they must seek written approval from the principal; otherwise, the accommodation cost paid will not be returned. Refer to Bill 11/2017 from the Treasurer’s Circular.
- The management of the residential colleges concerned must grant authorization for students who seek to transfer to another college (within a semester).
- The bed, mattress, wardrobe, desk, chair, notice board, towel rack, and bookshelf are the room’s basic amenities.
- Any violation of the rules governing the residential college could result in disciplinary action, up to and including expulsion from the institution.
Expiration of Accommodation
- On the University-set final day of the academic semester, students are required to evacuate the room.
- Students must: Maintain the space’s cleanliness after leaving a room.
- Bring your personal possessions home;
- Items left behind will be disposed of since they are useless;
- Before leaving the room, double-check that all electrical switches are off;
- The staff at the residential college counter must receive the room keys from the students during business hours.
Out of Semester Accommodation
After the expiration date, if a student needs housing at the residential college, he or she must petition for residency there for the necessary time.
The Authority For Room Inspection
- Anytime, College Management is permitted to check out a student’s room.
- A fellow resident may visit the student’s room at any time with the college administration’s approval.
- The authorized person who has received approval from the College Management to conduct the inspection at the residential college is:
- able to bring along anyone else to assist with the inspection.
- allowed to inspect a student’s room who is the opposing sex while another person who is the same sex as the student being inspected is present.
- The resident student must not take any action that would stop or restrict a legitimate person from going to the resident student’s room and performing their duties.
Noise Policy
From 12:00 am to 6:00 am, residents of the residential college must abide by the no-noise policy.
Damage Complaint
- Any damage to the basic lodging facilities must be reported by students to the residential college using the channels established by the residential college.
- Students are obligated to make restitution at the University-set amount if it is discovered that they purposefully destroyed the basic amenities offered.
- The basic housing facilities that the university provides are the responsibility of the students.
Cleanliness of Premise
- It is the duty of students to maintain their rooms tidy.
- The residential college grounds must be used wisely by students. If the students are discovered to have harmed, stained, or caused activities that further harmed any location, structure, object, or piece of equipment.
- Except on the residential college notice board with permission from the College Management, students are not permitted to post notices, announcements, or posters elsewhere in the residential college.
The wearing of Residential college card
- While attending a residential college, students are required to wear their college ID.
- Students who mishandle, lose, or fail to present their residential college card may deal with the management of the residential college.
- Students must notify the residential college’s management right away if their card is lost.
Dress Code
- While in the residential college area, students are required to wear neat, clean, and cover-up-free attire.
- When asked to present themselves by the university’s discipline authority or any authorized personnel, while attending teaching and learning sessions, including examinations, while conducting experiments in the lab, while attending an official event organized by the university or any party author, and while wearing a purdah (face cover), a student may do so on campus with written permission from the vice chancellor.
- A student may submit a written request for special permission to wear a purdah by outlining their justification and attaching relevant documentation.
Safety Procedure
- It is the responsibility of the students themselves to prevent any entry or theft that results from failure to lock their individual rooms.
- All break-ins and thefts must be reported by students to the residential college and the UKM Security Division.
- In the event of an invasion or theft, students may file a police report.

Important Notes
- Student Housing Center issues notices regarding applications and confirmations.
Within the time frame established by the University, students must submit an application and confirm their enrollment. - On the day of registration, students will be entered into the Student Information System (SMP).
- Obtain the necessary items, such as the room key, the basic room inventory form, and any additional requirements imposed by the residential college.
- Examine the space, complete the form, and turn it in at the residential college counter.
Dato’ Onn Residence
Dato’ Onn College (KDO) founded UKM Bangi in conjunction with the relocation of the UKM Campus to Bangi. On November 25, 1977, First College became Student Complex A.
Due to Dato ‘Onn’s notoriety and stature, history will eternally record his name and keep him in memory. As a result, on January 30, 1986, or 20 Jamadil Awwal 1406 Hijrah, YAB Tun Hussein Onn, Malaysia’s third prime minister, inaugurated the college, strengthening its standing.

Aminuddin Baki College was established for housing about 1971 and was once known as UKM’s Second Residential College. After Dato ‘Onn Institution, this college is the oldest residential college in Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) .
Aminuddin Baki College is still flourishing now at the age of 44, keeping up with other residential institutions in UKM.

Dr. Burhanuddin Al-name Helmi’s has become synonymous with this college. a professor, a supporter of Malaysian independence, and a renowned national academic. Around 800 persons can be accommodated at once at Burhanuddin Helmi College.

Tun Hussien Onn Residence
Prior to 1990, Kamsis (Kampung Siswa) Dato ‘Onn II was the previous name of Tun Hussein Onn College. In 1990, the name was changed to Kamsis Tun Hussein Onn. This Kamsis was afterwards known as the Tun Hussein Onn College in accordance with the restructuring.
Due to his military service and contributions as a defender of the national honor, he is known by the moniker Tun Hussein Onn. Because this college is the residential college for the Reserve Officer Training Team, the usage of the name Tun Hussein Onn is extremely fitting (PALAPES).

Three years after Tun Dr Ismail Residential College (Kolej Tun Dr Ismail, KTDI) opened it officially in operation since June 1999. On the grounds of HUKM, Tun Dr Ismail Residential College was constructed beginning in 1999. It had six hostel blocks with a total capacity of about 600 students as well as other facilities.
Due to the relocation of the Faculty of Medicine’s preclinical years from Kuala Lumpur to Cheras, the Tun Dr Ismail Residential College 2 was created and officially opened in order to house additional students from the Faculty of Medicine (preclinical year students and nursing students).
