Taylor’s University offers five undergraduate scholarships for 2026 intakes: Merit, Talent and Sports (50% or 70% tuition fee waiver), PPE Exclusive (50% or 100%) and the Community Scholarship (full). It also offers the Taylor’s Excellence Award (up to RM13,000 a year), progression bursaries, and postgraduate scholarships that include fully funded PhD places with a monthly stipend. Most undergraduate scholarships are limited to Malaysians and to international students progressing from Taylor’s own schools. International students usually qualify for the Excellence Award, bursaries and postgraduate schemes instead.

Can International Students Get a Taylor’s Scholarship?
Yes, but not every scholarship is open to them. Taylor’s states that its undergraduate scholarships are only available to Malaysian students and to international students progressing within Taylor’s Education Group (TEG), such as graduates of Taylor’s International School or Taylor’s College. For other international students, the realistic options are:
- Taylor’s Excellence Award – open to international students whose results come from a recognised Malaysian institution, for example after completing a foundation programme or A Level in Malaysia.
- Progression bursaries – for students moving up from Taylor’s College or a TEG school.
- Postgraduate scholarships – the High Achiever Scholarship for taught Master’s and the Research Excellence Scholarships for PhD and Master’s by Research.
Since 1 July 2025, non-Malaysian students also pay a 6% service tax on tuition fees, calculated after any scholarship is deducted.
Taylor’s Undergraduate Scholarships 2026
These scholarships cover the American Degree Transfer Program (ADTP), selected diplomas, advanced diplomas and bachelor’s degrees, for full-time study. You need a Letter of Offer from Taylor’s when you apply.
Taylor’s Merit Scholarship
The Merit Scholarship rewards top academic results. Shortlisted applicants take an online psychometric test and an interview. Award: 70% or 50% tuition fee waiver.
Taylor’s Talent Scholarship
For students with national-level achievement in an artistic or on-stage field: musical instruments (such as piano, guitar or violin), dance or singing. Assessment is a live performance and an interview. Award: 70% or 50% tuition fee waiver.
Taylor’s Sports Scholarship
For athletes who have competed at national level in one of the listed sports: swimming, badminton, basketball, table tennis, futsal/football, volleyball, dodgeball, netball, taekwondo, athletics, chess, tennis, captainball, karate, bowling or squash. You need to meet the programme’s entry requirements and keep satisfactory results. The award is for one intake in the year only and cannot be moved to another intake. Award: 70% or 50% tuition fee waiver.
Taylor’s Community Scholarship
A need-based scholarship for Malaysian students whose monthly household income is below RM5,000. The number of dependants and any physical disability are also considered. Award: full scholarship.
PPE Exclusive Scholarship
For the Bachelor in Philosophy, Politics and Economics (Honours). Assessment is a written test and a group interview. A Level applicants need at least 15 points (AAA) for the 100% waiver or 13 points (AAB, ABB or AAC) for the 50% waiver. Award: 100% or 50% tuition fee waiver.

SPM, IGCSE and A Level points are counted per subject (for example, an A+ in SPM or an A* in IGCSE is worth 5 points). UEC applicants also need at least B4 in English or IELTS 6.0. Meeting the minimum does not guarantee an award; Taylor’s selects recipients through its assessment.
Taylor’s Excellence Award 2026
The Excellence Award is a tuition fee reduction based on your results, with no interview. It is the main undergraduate award open to international students who studied in Malaysia. You can apply with forecast, trial or actual results through a Taylor’s education counsellor.

The exact amount depends on the programme, and some degrees have slightly lower caps per tier, so confirm the figure for your course with a counsellor. Health and medical sciences degrees, such as Pharmacy, Biomedical Science and MBBS, need higher results (for example, Foundation CGPA 3.90 for Tier 1). Taylor’s Bursaries 2026
- Progression bursary: up to RM8,000 off a degree or full-time ACCA, and up to RM4,000 off an advanced diploma, for students progressing within one year of graduating from Taylor’s College, Taylor’s University or a TEG school.
- TEG school bursary: up to RM5,000 for students moving from a TEG school (IGCSE or equivalent) into Taylor’s foundation, diploma, pre-university or ADTP programmes.
- Alumni bursary: up to RM2,000 for Taylor’s or TEG graduates returning more than a year after graduation for a higher level of study.
Taylor’s Postgraduate Scholarships 2026
High Achiever Scholarship (Taught Master’s)
For full-time or part-time taught Master’s programmes, on campus or online. You need a bachelor’s degree with a minimum CGPA of 3.50, actual results and a Letter of Offer. Assessment is a written test, plus an interview if you are shortlisted. Award: 50% tuition fee waiver.

Research scholars join a tutor development programme (about 4 to 6 hours a week), must list Taylor’s University as the first affiliation on their publications, and in most schemes accept a two-year first-choice-of-employment clause. Some schemes also waive the international student charge and annual fee for the first year.
Postgraduate bursaries: new taught Master’s students can receive up to RM5,000; Taylor’s bachelor’s graduates progressing to a Master’s can receive up to RM10,000 (CGPA 3.30 and above); and self-funded research students can receive up to RM10,000 depending on their CGPA.

The 2026 deadlines have now passed. Taylor’s usually opens applications for the next year’s intakes towards the end of the year, so students aiming for Taylor’s 2027 intakes should prepare documents early. The Excellence Award and bursaries are given at enrolment and have no separate deadline.
How to Apply for a Taylor’s Scholarship
- Get your offer: apply for your programme and receive a Letter of Offer.
- Submit the scholarship application with your documents before the intake deadline. Late or incomplete applications are not accepted, and you can apply only once per level of study.
- Processing: applications are reviewed about 2 to 3 weeks after the deadline.
- Assessment: shortlisted applicants are invited by email to a psychometric test, live performance, written test or interview, depending on the scholarship.
- Result: the offer or outcome is sent by email.
Important Terms and Conditions
- Scholarships and awards cover tuition fees only. Visa, EMGS, insurance, international student charges and resit fees are not included, so budget separately for Taylor’s accommodation options.
- You can hold only one scholarship, award, bursary or discount at a time, including external sponsorships.
- The award runs for the standard length of the programme and can end if you do not keep the required grades, change programme or intake without approval, or break the rules.
- Scholars join the Scholar’s Club and act as student ambassadors.
- SPM applicants can apply with actual or trial results; IGCSE applicants with actual or forecast results.
Taylor’s College Scholarships
Pre-university students at Taylor’s College (A Level, Australian Matriculation, foundation and selected diplomas) have their own Merit, Talent, Sports and Community scholarships, which can reach a full scholarship. There is also a Young Accountant Scholarship (100% waiver for the ACCA Foundation in Accountancy). Starting at Taylor’s College is also the most common route for international students to qualify later for Taylor’s University awards.
