Actuarial Studies Program

APU offers a Bachelor of Science in Actuarial Studies. This is a 3-year course where students study full-time. The main goal of this program is to teach students about math, statistics, and how to think and analyze like actuaries, so they can become one in the future.

They can be found in insurance companies, banks, places that handle retirement money, health services, consulting companies, and government jobs. These experts are good at solving problems and making plans based on understanding risks. They are often paid very well because many companies around the world need their skills.

APU’s Actuarial Studies course is known and respected by big organizations in the US and UK, like the Society of Actuaries (SOA) and the Institute of Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA). Joining APU means you are stepping into a world where actuarial work is growing fast. Also, APU is among the best universities in Asia that get special recognitions from IFoA.

APU also has special versions of the Actuarial Studies course that focus on Data Analytics and Financial Technology. These courses have been given a special approval by the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries in the UK. Students who do very well in their studies, getting an average mark of 65% or more, can skip some exams in the new IFoA course system. These exams are called CS1, CS2, CM1, CM2, CB1, and CB2.

In the year 2022, a big number, 83% of students from APU, did not have to take these exams because they did so well in their studies. Well done to those students for getting the highest possible recognitions from IFoA!
