This program typically spans a duration of  two years. APU diploma in ICT includes courses that cover a wide range of topics, such as computer programming, web development, user interface design, and digital media production.

Throughout this program, students will learn how to create interactive and engaging digital content, websites, and applications.

Program Outline

APU Diploma of ICT in Interactive Technology is specifically designed to teach students :

• Coverage includes the academic and occupational aspects of the broad field of computing and information and communication technology, with an emphasis on characteristics of system interaction.
• Prepare students for professions in information and communication technology environments by emphasizing solution design, multimedia and computer game creation, technology infrastructure support, and interactive applications.
• Students should be taught critical, independent, and cooperative learning abilities in order to adjust to future changes in industry practices.
• Provide students with the academic and professional skills they need to plan, develop, and maintain solutions that require the use of technology in an organizational setting within the limitations that they face.

Semester 1

Students will learn basic mathematical, language, and communication abilities, as well as key information technology skills, at the start of the the course of study. Students will learn the fundamental concepts and terms of technology and business management.

Semester 2

The second semester builds on and expands on the first semester’s fundamental knowledge. Language and communication abilities are enhanced to higher degrees of research and professionalism. The capacity to analyze and solve problems directly, as well as familiarity with technology, are enhanced.

Semester 3

This semester teaches students to new areas in information and communication technology, such as computer programming, databases, Internet applications, and computer system design. Students with this knowledge can use computing tools and approaches to deal with regular real world challenges.

Semester 4

Students gain access to more advanced development ideas, such as the use of usability principles in web design and development, as well as the system development cycle. At the same time, students in the Digital Games Design and Re engineering course learn about level design and documentation for computer games. The fundamentals of operating systems are used to introduce employability skills, preparing students to provide technical support inside an organization.

Semester 5

Students will learn fundamental knowledge of computer networks in their last semester to broaden their understanding of computing technologies. They will also be introduced to multimedia technologies in order to improve their knowledge and awareness of the usage of graphics, audio, and video. In addition, students create and execute algorithms in their second programming language and complete a Software Development Project to demonstrate their ability to integrate skills, knowledge, and understanding from the whole program, including multimedia techniques for corporate presentations and entertainment.

Semester 6 – Internship (8 weeks)

Students must take part in an Internship/Industrial Training program for a minimum of 8 weeks. This program aims to provide a smooth transition for students from their educational environment to the formal workplace.

Additional Studies

After successfully completing this program with a CGPA of 2.5 or above and fulfilling the credit transfer requirements, students will be able to continue to Level 2 of the following APU degree programs.

APU-DMU Dual Degree

Students enrolled in the Bachelor’s Degree Program are presented with the opportunity to join the APU-DMU Dual Degree Scheme. By choosing this pathway, upon graduation, students will be awarded two Degree Certificates and Transcripts: one from Asia Pacific University (APU) in Malaysia and another from De Montfort University (DMU) in the UK.

Admission Requirements

General Requirement
SPM	3 Credits in at least 3 subjects at SPM level including Mathematics, with a minimum of a pass in Bahasa Malaysia and Sejarah (History)
IGCSE/O-LEVELS	3 Credits (Grade C and above) in at least 3 subjects at IGCSE/O-Levels including Mathematics
UEC	3 Credits (Grade B and above) in at least 3 subjects in UEC including Mathematics
CERTIFICATE	Pass relevant Certificate Program or its equivalent

Program Fees

Diploma of ICT program fees at APU University is different for local and international students. These fees are for the duration of the course.
