APU BSc in Psychology is an undergraduate degree program that focuses on the scientific study of human behavior and mental processes. Program Outline
APU BSc in Psychology is specifically designed to teach students :
- Apply problem-solving, critical, analytical and scientific research skills to resolve complex, applied and unpredictable issues in the different areas of psychology.
- Perform a range of appropriate psychological measurements using software and technological tools.
- Relate ideas and research findings, both effectively and fluently, by written, oral and visual means.
- Identify a broad range of information, media and technological applications for psychological research.
- Demonstrate leadership in social settings, including understanding and communicating the role of evidence when making critical judgements about psychological issues and arguments.
- Demonstrate competence in problem solving and scientific research skills including generating research questions or hypotheses and devising ways of testing these using both quantitative and qualitative methods.
Degree Level 1
In year 1, Students getting to know about the theoretical and conceptual framework of psychology. In addition, students will also understanding the practices and applications of psychology generally within the wider context of the mental health industry.

Degree Level 2
In year 2, Students will be able to express a systematic knowledge of influences on psychological functioning. They will be able to use critical thinking, analytical abilities, and scientific research to face complicated and unpredictable challenges in various areas of psychology. They will also show leadership and professionalism.

Internship
To bridge the gap between academic and professional worlds, students will undergo an Internship or Industrial Training for at least 16 weeks. This ensures they transition smoothly from academic settings to real world job.
Degree Level 3
In year 3, Students will use their past studies and work experience to determine which areas of Psychology they want to specialize in for their final year elective courses. Students will be able to independently review and track their own learning, as well as convert ideas into actions.
A final year project allows students to take an experiential approach to many areas of psychology and to apply all of their knowledge and abilities gained in the classroom and internship settings to their research topic.
They will also gain proficiency in the use of media and technology in psychological research. The final year project demonstrates the student’s ability to blend psychological knowledge, communication skills, critical thinking, and analytical skills to create a personal portfolio.

APU-DMU Dual Degree
Students enrolled in the Bachelor’s Degree Program are presented with the opportunity to join the APU-DMU Dual Degree Scheme. By choosing this pathway, upon graduation, students will be awarded two Degree Certificates & Transcripts: one from Asia Pacific University (APU) in Malaysia and another from De Montfort University (DMU) in the UK.
