APU BA in Tourism Management teaches students how to work in the big world of tourism. It includes learning about places to visit, advertising, and tourism that is good for the environment. After finishing, students can work in places like travel agencies, resorts, planning events, or giving advice on tourism. This degree helps students learn about old and new things happening in the tourism business.
Program Outline
APU BA in Tourism Management aims to teach students with:
- To gain the knowledge and skills to take on leading roles in the travel and tourism industries.
- To learn how important travel and tourism are for business, the environment, and being sustainable.
- To study travel and tourism, which will help you grow in your education and job by improving your thinking, knowledge, personal skills, and To learn on your own for your whole life.
- To learn skills to help you work in many different areas of the tourism business.
- To help you understand different cultures, how to talk and work with others, and how to create and show off a travel product or service.
Degree Level 1
In year 1, students will obtain the essential skills that every professional in tourism management needs, along with the foundational of the business environment – this includes areas like Management, Law, Entrepreneurship, Marketing, Handling People, and Accounting. Particularly, there is a concentration on the challenges of service management. Additionally, APU will introduce them to key aspects of business communication, computer & IT capabilities, and increasing the ability for self study. Furthermore, students will get attention into the methods and uses of virtual reality and augmented reality through our “Intro to VRAR and Metaverse” segment.

Degree Level 2

APU aims to strengthen their ability for self learning, readying them for both professional environments and further investigative studies.

Internship
To bridge the gap between academic and professional worlds, students will experience an Internship or Industrial Training for at least 16 weeks. This ensures they transition smoothly from academic settings to real world jobs.
Degree Level 3
Using what they learned in school and from work, students will learn more about today’s problems in managing tourism. They will focus on planning, advertising, and caring for the environment. This training wants to make them leaders in the tourism business. In the last year, they will do a project on a topic they choose. Here, they will show what they know and what they can do in that area.

APU-DMU Dual Degree
Students enrolled in the Bachelor’s Degree Program are presented with the opportunity to join the APU-DMU Dual Degree Scheme. By choosing this pathway, upon graduation, students will be awarded two Degree Certificates & Transcripts: one from Asia Pacific University (APU) in Malaysia and another from De Montfort University (DMU) in the UK.
