APU BSc CS in Digital Forensics is a specialized degree that focuses on the study of methods and techniques used to gather, preserve, analyze, and present evidence from digital devices like computers, smartphones, and storage media. This field combines principles from computer science, law, and criminal justice to address cybercrimes, data breaches, and other malicious activities that compromise digital security. Digital forensics experts are often called upon in legal cases to provide expert testimony or to assist in investigations of incidents ranging from unauthorized data access to financial fraud.

Program Outline

APU BSc CS in Digital Forensics aims to teach students to:

  • Learn how to build and manage computer systems, with a special focus on digital forensics – the science of finding and analyzing digital evidence.
  • Think carefully about the different ways of doing advanced digital forensics investigations and responding to incidents. This includes the designs, programming languages, steps, and tools used.
  • Make the most of chances to use new tech tools and ideas in digital forensics.

Degree Level 1

In year 1, students will learn the basic skills that every tech professional needs. They will learn how to program and get good at math and problem solving. These skills will be very important for their studies in the second and third year. Students will also learn about the inner workings of computers – things like computer structure, how they operate, how they link and share information, how they store data, and how to keep them safe and find digital clues. They will also start to learn about management, which will help them understand how people and organizations grow and change. They will learn how to learn on their own and work well in a team too.
