Program Outline

APU BA in Human Resource Management aims to teach students:

Degree Level 1

Students will obtain foundational knowledge in the backdrop of business functions such as Management, Law, Accounting, Economics, Entrepreneurship, and Marketing. Additionally, they will be introduced to essential business communication techniques, IT and computing capabilities, and analytical methodologies, increasing self reliant learning. All programs under Business Management share a unified first year, ensuring a robust foundation in business management concepts and methodologies.

Degree Level 2

They will also learn deeply about how human resources work. Additionally, they will understand more about the main business tasks using software from a company called SAP. APU will also help them learn on their own, which will be useful when they start working or want to research more.

Internship

To bridge the gap between academic and professional worlds, students will experience an Internship or Industrial Training for at least 16 weeks. This ensures they transition smoothly from academic settings to real world jobs.

Degree Level 3

In year 3, using what they have learned from school and work, students will learn more by looking at current and real world problems in managing people at work. The lessons are made to help them use skills and information needed for jobs in this area. They will also learn how to lead and make big plans, so they can become top business leaders around the world. In the last year, they will do a project by themselves, showing what they know and can do in the topic they choose.

APU-DMU Dual Degree

Students enrolled in the Bachelor’s Degree Program are presented with the opportunity to join the APU-DMU Dual Degree Scheme. By choosing this pathway, upon graduation, students will be awarded two Degree Certificates & Transcripts: one from Asia Pacific University (APU) in Malaysia and another from De Montfort University (DMU) in the UK.

Admission Requirements

General Requirements
Direct Entry to Level 1 of Degree
STPM • 2 Passes in STPM with a minimum Grade C (GP 2.0) and a Pass in English and Mathematics at SPM Level or its equivalent.
A-Level • 2 Passes in A-Level with a Pass in English and Mathematics at SPM/ O-Level/ IGCSE or its equivalent.
UEC • 5 Grade B’s in UEC with a Pass in Mathematics and English.
Foundation/ Matriculation • Passed Foundation program (minimum CGPA of 2.0).
Direct Entry to Level 2 of Degree
Diplomas • Successful completion of the APU/APIIT Diploma or
• Successful completion of studies in another recognized institute with academic credits equivalent to Level 1 of an Honors Degree
(Subject to the approval of the APU/APIIT Academic Board)

English Requirements for International Students

  • IELTS : 5.5
  • TOEFL iBT : 46
  • Pearson (PTE) : 51
  • MUET : Band 4.0
