APU BA of Accounting Technology aims to teach students:

Degree Level 1

In year 1, students of APU BA of Accounting Technology will obtain essential abilities that every accounting and finance specialist needs, along with a foundational legal, commercial, and societal context where accounting functions. They will get to know business procedures using accounting software and the globally recognized enterprise resource planning tool, SAP. Students will receive practical training using this system.

Degree Level 2

So, they will take classes like “New Technology in Accounting and Finance,” “Studying Data in Accounting and Finance,” and “Using AI in Money Matters.”

Internship

To bridge the gap between academic and professional worlds, students will undergo an Internship or Industrial Training for at least 16 weeks. This ensures they transition smoothly from academic settings to real-world job scenarios.

Degree Level 3

Students will learn more about how to use technology and analyze data in accounting and finance. They will get practical training in areas like Big Data and how to visualize information in Accounting and Finance. They will also learn about online safety in accounting and how to use robots for checking accounts. To help students think and solve problems better, they will study courses like Reflective Practice in Accounting & Finance. This will end with a big project called a capstone. Students will also learn about how decisions in business can affect the environment, society, and how companies are run. This will be taught in courses like Strategy, Sustainability and Leadership and Seminar in Accounting & Finance. In the last year, each student will pick a topic and work on a big project by themselves. This will show what they have learned and how they can use it in real life.

APU-DMU Dual Degree

Students enrolled in the Bachelor’s Degree Program are presented with the opportunity to join the APU-DMU Dual Degree Scheme. By choosing this pathway, upon graduation, students will be awarded two Degree Certificates & Transcripts: one from Asia Pacific University (APU) in Malaysia and another from De Montfort University (DMU) in the UK.

Admission Requirements

General Requirements
Direct Entry to Level 1 of Degree
STPM • 2 Passes in STPM with a minimum Grade C+ (GP 2.33) and a Credit in Mathematics at SPM Level or its equivalent. (MUET Band 2 is required for all Malaysian Students)
A-Level • 2 Passes in A-Level in any 2 subjects, and a Credit in Mathematics at SPM/O-Level/IGCSE or its equivalent.
UEC • 5 Grade B’s in UEC including Mathematics. (MUET Band 2 is required for all Malaysian Students)
Foundation/ Matriculation • Passed Foundation program (minimum CGPA of 2.5) with a Credit in Mathematics at SPM/O-Level/IGCSE or equivalent.
Direct Entry to Level 2 of Degree
Diploma in Accounting • Passed Diploma with minimum CGPA of 2.5 and a Credit in Mathematics at SPM/O-Level/IGCSE level.

English Requirements for International Students

  • IELTS : 5.5
  • TOEFL iBT : 46
  • Pearson (PTE) : 51
  • MUET : Band 4.0
