Program Outline

The program aims to teach students:

• Extend the design innovation management program to additional organizations that view design as a strategic competitive advantage.
• Prepare graduates to address the growing demand for advanced design technology management and the deployment of innovative management methodologies.
• Meet the increasing demand for advanced design management and leadership skills in a variety of services and businesses.

Courses

The course of study includes 9 coursework modules (including 1 on research methodology) and a project titled Creative Futures Project. In the courses, there will be a mix of management and design context.

Project

The last project course is called “Creative Futures Project,” and it requires you to do an extensive project based on industry along with evidence and output in the field of Design Innovation Management. At the end of the course, there will be a final exhibition and presentation.

APU-DMU Dual Degree

Students enrolled in the Masters Degree Program will have the option to participate in the APU-DMU Dual Degree Scheme. Students will receive two Degree Certificates and Transcripts upon graduation under this Scheme: one from Asia Pacific University (APU) in Malaysia and one from De Montfort University (DMU) in the United Kingdom.

Admission Requirements

General Requirement

Bachelor’s Degree in the field or related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.75 or equivalent, as accepted by the HEP Senate.

Bachelor’s Degree in the field or related fields or equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 and not meeting CGPA of 2.75, can be accepted subject to rigorous internal assessment.

Bachelor’s Degree in the field or related fields or equivalent with minimum CGPA of 2.00 and not meeting CGPA of 2.50, can be accepted subject to minimum of 5 years working experience in the relevant field and rigorous internal assessment.

English Requirements for International Students

•  IELTS : 6.0
