Master in Computing is a provided postgraduate degree designed for people who have never studied computing but want to learn the fundamentals or expand on their existing knowledge. This course is designed for those who desire to add computing skills or retrain as computing professionals.
The program is designed to help and develop students with non computing undergraduate degrees. Each module provides a variety of skill development opportunities. These lessons were created to teach a wide range of abilities required by modern computing professionals. The evaluation will help in the development of these skills through individual, couple, and group work.
These experiences will help students improve their communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, as well as their technical knowledge, time management, and project management skills.
Courses and Exams
APU University MSc in Computing is based on research and is evaluated using oral reports and presentations at several stages, including a Proposal Defense, regular twice a year progress monitoring at research colloquiums, Work Completion Defense, Thesis Examination, and Viva Voce.
Students must take at least one given course on Research Methodology to get the necessary knowledge to do their research successfully. Ongoing conferences with supervisors will be required to ensure the direction of the research as well as the quality and significance of the results.
Transformation to PHD
If a student finishing the Research Degree program passes all of the requirements listed below, they may become a PhD candidate:
(a) Demonstrate outstanding achievement in their field of study.
(b) Researchers can prove that their project has the potential to advance to the PhD level.
(c) Pass the entire examination.
If the process of converting is successful, the student will no longer be a Research Degree candidate but will instead become a PhD candidate, with their candidature start date backdated to the date they registered for their Research Degree. As a result, the student is able to get a PhD in a shorter period of time without having to complete a Masters program.

- Understanding of how to create, generate, and handle new ideas.
- Deep awareness of a specific subject of knowledge relating to computing.
- Experience and skills in advanced research that allow students to pursue a PhD program.
APU-DMU Dual Degree
Students enrolled in the Masters Degree Program will have the option to participate in the APU-DMU Dual Degree Scheme. Students will receive two Degree Certificates and Transcripts upon graduation under this Scheme: one from Asia Pacific University (APU) in Malaysia and one from De Montfort University (DMU) in the United Kingdom.
