Program Outline

APU Diploma in Accounting is specifically designed to teach students :

• Students who have the knowledge and skills needed to pursue careers in finance, business, or accounting.

• Students with knowledge of FinTech and technical skills essential to accounting.
• Students have chances for advancement into graduate programs in related fields.

Semester 1

Students are going to finish this semester with a foundational understanding of digital innovation and design thinking along with fundamental IT abilities. Students studying business management skills will come across a range of language and fundamental ideas during the course of the program. These abilities are necessary for an easy transition to the next semester.

Semester 2

This semester, the Professional Communications and Quantitative Methods courses are available to help students significantly advance their knowledge and skills, with a focus on topics fundamental to the study of accounting. Additionally, accounting students are exposed to information systems, where they will practice using AIS applications for operational and strategic decision making.

Semester 3

Students are moving on from fundamental accounting concepts and procedures to deeper financial accounting material this semester. Additionally, there are modules in related subjects like business statistics, marketing, and economics that will increase the understanding and ability to solve problems and make decisions in a variety of business environments.

Semester 4

This semester’s courses are designed to introduce students to the most recent ideas, methods, and developments in cost and financial accounting as well as refers to related to financial reporting and accounting. The purpose of these courses is to improve students’ application skills in more advanced accounting-related fields. Additionally, Financial Systems, Fintech, and Entrepreneurship Fundamentals are taught to students.

Semester 5

The last semester allows students to move on into more advanced Accounting and Taxation topics. Graduates are expected to display cognitive and intellectual talents with strategies in corporate management, information technology, finance, and accounting, as well as a balance of accounting theory and practical applications with integrated computer technologies. Students will also gain a grasp of the Auditing idea, which is linked to factors such as the use of Big Data, Artificial Intelligence, and Robo Auditing.

Additional Studies

After successfully completing this program with a CGPA of 2.5 or above and fulfilling the credit transfer requirements, students will be able to continue to Level 2 of the following APU degree programs.

APU-DMU Dual Degree

Students enrolled in the Bachelor’s Degree Program are presented with the opportunity to join the APU-DMU Dual Degree Scheme. By choosing this pathway, upon graduation, students will be awarded two Degree Certificates & Transcripts: one from Asia Pacific University (APU) in Malaysia and another from De Montfort University (DMU) in the UK.

Admission Requirements

General Requirement
SPM	3 Credits in at least 3 subjects at SPM level including Mathematics, with a minimum of a pass in Bahasa Malaysia and Sejarah (History)
IGCSE/O-LEVELS	3 Credits (Grade C & above) in at least 3 subjects at IGCSE/O-LEVELS including Mathematics
UEC	3 Credits (Grade B & above) in at least 3 subjects in UEC including Mathematics
CERTIFICATE	Pass relevant Certificate Program or its equivalent.

• TOEFL IBT : 46
• Pearson (PTE) : 51
• MUET : Band 4

Program Fees

Diploma in Accounting program fees at APU University is different for local and international students. These fees are for the duration of the course.
